The goal of the Unity Operating System (UOS) when it was established was to keep China from being controlled by others in the field of basic software, forming China's voice and advantages, its developer Union Tech said last week.
So why it should be the UOS?
Union Tech said today that in recent years, many Chinese technical teams are trying to develop Chinese operating systems with different styles and technical routes.
However, due to insufficient technical strength, each team has some advantages and disadvantages, which leads us tortuous on the road of independent research and development of operating systems, it said.
At the end of 2019, Union Tech is composed of a number of core companies engaged in operating system R & D in China after long-term integration. With the slogan of โBuilding an Operating System Innovation Ecologyโ and the โSix Unificationsโ as the guideline, it completes the mission of developing operating systems.
Here are the six unified contents of UOS:
Unified version (supports multiple chips)
Unified support platform (compilation, community)
Unified app store and warehouse (distribution channel)
Unified development interface (ABI and API)
Unified standards and specifications (testing, certification)
Unified documentation (development, maintenance, use)
Union Tech said that since the release of UOS, it has received strong support from industry partners, which has enabled UOS to complete the adaptation of four architectures and six CPUs in a short period of time. The adaptation paved the way.
UOS is based on the Linux kernel research and development, supporting notebooks, desktops, all-in-ones and workstations of chip platforms such as Loongson, Feiteng, Zhaoxin, Haiguang, Kunpeng, and servers.
