Apple will release 5 new iPhones that support millimeter wave/Sub-6GHz technology in 2020, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report on Monday.
Kuo cited his previous reports and said that Apple will release five iPhones in 2020: new 4.7-inch LCD models, new 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch (rear dual camera), 6.1-inch (rear triple camera), and 6.7-inch OLED models.
It is worth noting that Kuo mentioned in the report that Apple is expected to release new iPhones supporting mmWave and new iPhones of Sub-6GHz at the same time. At the same time, Apple's 5G version of iPhone will be divided into Sub-6GHz and Sub-6GHz + mmWave models.
He said that the current development of the Sub-6GHz + mmWave iPhone is progressing as scheduled, and it is expected to be shipped at the end of the third quarter or the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2020.
With the addition of support for Sub-6GHz and mmWave, Kuo estimates that shipments of 2020 iPhones will be 80–85 million units in 2020, with models supporting mmWave versions accounting for 15–20%.
