Previous media reports said a Tesla Model 3 in Jiangxi province was suspected to have run out of control and caught fire. Now a video of the accident has been released.

Chinese-made Tesla Model 3 sedan registrations for May were 11,364 units, up 173.63% from the previous month, according to Chinaauto.ac.cn.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a new directory of recommended models for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles, showing that Tesla's China-made Model 3 standard range version with lithium iron phosphate battery is included.

The China-made Model 3 has been dropping in price frequently since its release because it has lower costs and higher margins, analysts from Essence Securities said.

China-made Tesla Model 3 sales in May were 11,095 units, up 205 percent from April, making it the No. 1 new-energy vehicle sold in China in the month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In early 2020, U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla's electric vehicle project in Shanghai, China, went into production after construction was completed within a year. 

Geely's high-end electric car maker Polestar plans to expand its stores in the country while preparing to launch a model to compete with Tesla's domestic Model 3, according to Reuters.

In April, Tesla Model 3, Nio ES6, Li ONE, XpengG3 and Weltmeister EX5 were the top five vehicles in China, with sales of 4,312, 2,886, 2,793, 1,234 and 943 vehicles respectively, data from the Automotive Data of China showed.

The first batch of the China-made long-range rear-drive Model 3 was delivered to consumers today, according to thepaper.cn. 

The Tesla Model Y comes with a wireless charging pad, and now it looks like that feature is coming to the Model 3 as well.
