Chinese game-streaming platform DouYu today announced that its Board of Directors has received a preliminary non-binding proposal letter from Tencent for combination with Huya.

Chinese social media giant Tencent is driving discussions to merge the country's biggest game-streaming platforms Huya and DouYu,  Bloomberg reported Wednesday citing people familiar with the matter.

Mining here doesn't mean mining bitcoin or Ether, but rather using your computer as a node to distribute live stream content.

Douyu, the largest game-centric live streaming platform in China, has recently launched a new feature called "Douyu Shopping", which means that Douyu has also begun to try the business of selling goods in live video streaming.
