Alibaba has fully opened its desktop AI agent application QoderWork, aiming to provide a plug-and-play AI productivity tool for everyday knowledge workers.
Alibaba announced on Tuesday the full release of its desktop AI agent application QoderWork, available for download on Mac and Windows.
Users can acquire a dedicated AI assistant without complex deployment, marking Alibaba's push to transform AI into a desktop-level execution tool.
Launched on January 30, QoderWork was initially limited to invite-only beta testing.
Unlike traditional cloud-reliant agents, QoderWork allows the AI to operate directly in a local environment, autonomously planning and executing complex workflows.
It can directly read and edit local files in mainstream formats like Excel and Word, boosting processing efficiency and eliminating tedious upload steps.
Addressing heightened data security concerns, the app features a pre-built, securely isolated virtual sandbox environment to execute complex tasks with strict privacy requirements.
All operations are securely executed locally without uploading data to the cloud. While ensuring controllable privacy, it offers two model tiers: standard and flagship.
Lightweight tasks can utilize the standard tier to significantly reduce consumption costs, whereas tasks requiring deep analysis and complex reasoning can leverage the more powerful flagship tier.
QoderWork features a built-in skills plaza covering scenarios such as document collaboration and report analysis, enabling users to complete daily office tasks through natural language conversations.
Since its initial rollout on January 30, the tool has helped users across various industries improve efficiency, such as automatically cleaning data and generating visual reports for sales personnel, according to an Alibaba statement on Wednesday.
