Chinese memory module maker issues price increase warning for memory sticks and SSDs

Shenzhen-based Powev Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese memory module maker, has issued a price increase warning for memory sticks and SSDs, citing a shortage of upstream raw material supply.

Due to tight wafer supply and limited packaging capacity, there is a shortage of DRAM and NAND FLASH supply in the market, the warning said, adding contract prices are rising, and the price of memory sticks and solid-state products will continue to rise.

Price increases for memory products will be from the first to the third quarter of 2021, and shortages for SSD products will be from the first to the second quarter of 2021, the company predicted.

The company stepped into the memory module manufacturing industry in 2012 and became the first and largest full-production chain memory product foundry in China, offering a full range of memory modules, SSDs, various storage devices, and other quality products and solutions.
