Honor now has more than 8,000 employees, more than 50 percent of whom are in the research and development department, the company's CEO George Zhao said at the Honor V40 launch event this morning.
Honor launched the Honor V40 series of phones at a conference today, the first new product launch for Honor since it broke away from Huawei.
Zhao said that Honor has had an extremely difficult but meaningful time over the past five months or so, and that Honor will aim for a global iconic technology brand with a new vision of creating a new world of intelligence for everyone.
Honor's product strategy will remain as“1+8+N”, but Zhao said Honor will move to the mid-range and high-end to create a top flagship brand.
Zhao also said Honor currently has five R&D sites and more than 100 innovation labs around the world. More than 3,000 service centers and 43 call centers have been established in more than 82 countries and regions.
In November 2013, the Honor brand was born, and Zhao said Honor harvested 20 million cell phone users in 2014, and in 2020 Honor already has more than 200 million full-scene smart and connected devices.
