The Hongqi brand of FAW China, known as the Chinese version of Rolls-Royce, launched the Hongqi E-HS9 electric SUV on December 4, with four models priced between RMB 509,800 ($78,050) and RMB 729,800.

The exterior design of the Hongqi E-HS9 continues the family language, somewhat resembling the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. It has multi-screen welcome light clusters and ambient lighting, and the center console features a large, integrated screen with full LCD instruments and a center display.

It is equipped with an L3 autopilot system and steering system, supports L4 automatic parking, and is equipped with facial recognition technology.

Equipped with 160kW (218hp) and 245kW (333hp) motors, it offers a range of 460km and 510km. The minimum acceleration time from 0-100km/h is 4.9 seconds.

The new car has a length, width and height of 5209/2010/1731 (mm) and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. It will be available in three seating configurations: four, six and seven.

As one of the highlights of the model, the Hongqi E-HS9 is equipped with built-in telematics module powered by the Qualcomm C-V2X chipset, making it the first production model to be equipped with this chipset and the industry's first production model to achieve 100% assisted warning verification in multiple LTE-V2X communication scenarios.

With the purchase of the Hongqi E-HS9, customers will receive a free home charging station and installation service, as well as 12 free home refueling services nationwide in the first year.

According to data released by Hongqi, from January to November 2020, FAW sold 3.398 million vehicles, an increase of 7.7 percent over the same period last year, of which 178,100 vehicles were sold under the Hongqi brand, an increase of 102 percent.
