NIO begins accepting applications for tickets for NIO Day 2020-cnTechPost

NIO is expected to unveil it's fourth new car, a flagship sedan, at NIO Day 2020.

NIO began accepting applications on Thursday for tickets to NIO Day 2020, which will be held on January 9, 2021 at the Wuliangye Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center.

As in the past, all NIO app users can apply, and each user can subscribe to a maximum of two tickets for an upfront fee of 1,000 NIO points per ticket.

These are NIO Day tickets only, and participants are responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses.

NIO Day is NIO's annual owners' gathering, and the company didn't disclose details of the event, but it is expected to unveil it's fourth new car, a flagship sedan.

The sedan, with its named to be determined, could be mass-produced in the fourth quarter of next year at the JAC NIO plant in central China's Anhui Province, previous media reports said.

NIO to hold NIO Day in Chengdu on Jan 9, its first sedan likely to be unveiled

NIO is accepting applications between 10:00 a.m. on December 3 and 12:00 p.m. on December 8, and the order of registration does not affect the chances of successfully obtaining tickets.

NIO said that due to the limited number of seats available at NIO Day, a lottery will be held on Dec. 10 with different probability intervals based on the applicant's NIO App points.

The higher the NIO App points, the higher the probability of winning tickets in the drawing. Users who are not selected in the drawing will have their points refunded within 24 hours. All participating users, regardless of whether or not they were drawn for a ticket, will receive a confirmation message pushed by the app within 24 hours.

NIO said the NIO Day preparation team is working with local police, fire and epidemiology departments to complete preparations for Covide-19 prevention and control.

NIO expects to have a final confirmation of the seating map for the venue in mid-December, at which time seat selection will be made available to users, who can select their tickets directly from the app. Seat selection will also be made available in order of NIO App points. Users who do not select a seat after the deadline will be randomly assigned.

NIO reminds us that due to the influence of Covid-19, the on-site management of NIO Day is stricter than in previous years, and this year's NIO Day tickets will adopt a full tracking mechanism, which will involve filling out and authenticating real identity information when selecting seats and entering the event.

There will also be a temperature check, health codes will be required, and participants will be required to wear masks.

In some cases, visitors may be required to provide a nucleic acid test report that is valid for seven days, NIO said.
