Xiaomi adjusts organizational structure to put more emphasis on wearable business-cnTechPost

Xiaomi has formed a wearable business unit and appointed Gao Yuan as general manager of the division, 163.com said, citing an internal Xiaomi Group document.

Gao will report to Zeng Xuezhong, president of Xiaomi's cell phone division. In addition, Cheng Liang, former product director of Xiaomi's eco-chain division, has been appointed deputy general manager of the wearable division, reporting to Gao, the report said.

Behind this adjustment is the rapid development of Xiaomi's wearable business in recent years.

The Xiaomi Band has shipped 13.4 million units in the first half of 2020, winning the top spot in both the domestic and international markets.

The Xiaomi Band 4 was the world's most popular smart band between Q3 2019 and Q1 2020, according to market research firm Canalys.

The Xiaomi Band 4 was also "best seller"on Amazon Japan's sports tracking category.

Xiaomi's smart bands have been a huge success from the beginning. The company sold one million initial generation Xiaomi Band in just nine months.

Xiaomi Band sees 13.4 million global shipments in H1, ranking first in the world
