China's first chip university to be launched as soon as this month

At the 18th China International Semiconductor Expo on October 14, Lv Huijun, deputy general manager of the Nanjing Integrated Circuit Industry Service Center (ICisC), said that the establishment of Nanjing Integrated Circuit University is almost certain.

According to Lv Huijun, "'chip university' exists and may be officially listed at the end of the month at the earliest."

The university is not a university in the traditional sense, but rather a special "school" supported by the government, which aims to pool industry and university resources to develop an innovative industry-education integration platform for professional integrated circuit talents.

According to Lv Huijun, "At the beginning, the scope of enrollment is mainly for students with employment needs in their fourth year, second and third year of research, with both online and offline teaching methods."

Teachers mainly come from senior engineers in enterprises and some university teachers, and may be extended to lower grades in the future, he said.
