Yesterday, it was reported that Chinese wearables maker Huami will work with Tesla to create a smartwatch. Tesla CEO Elon Musk later tweeted, "Definitely not. Smartwatches & phones are yesterday’s technology, Neuralinks are the future."
Earlier reports said that Tesla is teaming up with Huami to launch a smartwatch that will replace keys to control Tesla vehicles.
The rumor spread even more heavily when Huang Wang, founder, chairman and CEO of Huami, said on Weibo that the new smartwatch would be released on September 15.
At the end of August, Musk said at a technology press conference that the eventual potential of Neuralinks was immeasurable, such as the ability to summon a Tesla self-driving model with "consciousness".
So Musk may be even more bullish on the "future" of brain-computer interface technology.
