5G is much cheaper than 4G, 3G or 2G, mainly because of the capacity of the network and has little to do with speed and latency, Paul Scanlan, CTO of Huawei's carrier business, said in a recent interview with Semiengineering, a European semiconductor research organization.
Paul said that 5G is 20 to 30 times the capacity of 4G and 10,000 times that of 2G. It uses 10 times less power and is 70 percent smaller.
The performance goals for 5G networks are high data rates, reduced latency, energy savings, cost reduction, increased system capacity and large-scale device connectivity.
Annual output of Huawei 5G factory in Europe expected to hit 1 billion euros
According to Huawei's official website for 5G NR, with 6 UBBPg2a+1 UMPTg configurations, the maximum number of RRC connected users can reach 7,200.
Its maximum throughput can reach 25Gbit/s, the maximum data radiobearing capacity (DRB) of a single gNodeB can reach 21,600, and the maximum number of gNodeB users per cell can reach 400.
