Huawei’s manufacturing plant in France that specializes in 4G and 5G equipment is expected to produce 1 billion euros’ worth of products annually and directly creates 500 jobs, according to the South China Morning Post.
Huawei has stated that it will invest 200 million euros in this plant, mainly for land, construction, and equipment procurement. It expects that the equipment produced by the plant will be mainly put into Europe.
In addition, Huawei will set up a demonstration center in the new factory to demonstrate the production, software addition and testing of wireless base stations.
According to Huawei data, as of now, Huawei has obtained 91 5G commercial contracts, of which 47 are from Europe.
Huawei Chairman Liang Hua said on February 27 that Huawei will build its first European 5G manufacturing plant in France, according to Reuters.
Earlier this month, Liu Kang, Huawei's chief representative in the European Union, said that Huawei was selecting a site in Europe and preparing to build a factory to produce 5G equipment. Currently, there are several candidate target locations.
