Xiaomi Group today announced that Zeng Xuezhong has been appointed as its Vice President and President of the Mobile Phone Division, responsible for the development and production of mobile phone products and reporting to Chairman and CEO Lei Jun.
Zeng Xuezhong has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and was previously Executive Vice President of ZTE Corporation and CEO of ZTE Mobile.
He also served as Executive Vice President of Tsinghua Unigroup, President of Tsinghua Unisplendour, and CEO of Unisoc.
Prior to joining Xiaomi, Zeng Xuezhong served as Chairman and General Manager of Shenzhen-based Hatchip, a company strategically invested by the Xiaomi Group that specializes in research and development of cutting-edge and common key technologies for 5G communications.
Zeng Xuezhong will continue to serve as Hatchip's chairman, and Xiaomi will continue its strategic cooperation with Hatchip in the future.
Lei Jun previously said that since Xiaomi's IPO, it has promoted a large number of executives internally, including vice presidents Yan Kesheng, Cui Baoqiu and Gao Ziguang, and more than 30 general managers of business units and functional departments.
In the past two years, Wang Xiaoyan, former founder of Pepper Mobile, Miao Lei, former vice president of ZTE Mobile, Lu Weibing, former president of Jinli Group, and Chang Cheng, former vice president of Lenovo Group, have joined Xiaomi.
