Huawei filed an application with INDECOPI on July 6, 2020 in Peru for a new trademark named MateStation that could be used for mobile docking accessories, similar to Samsung's DeX.
Judging by the timing of this trademark filing, the Huawei MateStation may be compatible with the upcoming Mate 40 series and even flagship products like the rumored Mate V.
The patent application was first reported by Dutch technology media LetsGoDigital.
The Huawei Mate 20 series has already had an EMUI computer mode, and with the MateStation, users may also be able to connect a mouse and keyboard, as well as a USB stick or other media for transferring data.
According to previous reports, the Mate 40 series is expected to feature the 5nm Kirin 1020 processor. Performance can be improved by 50% compared to the Kirin 990.
If it is compatible with Huawei MateStation, it will provide users with a smoother desktop experience.
