Chinese EV maker Nio delivered a total of 3,740 vehicles in June, up 179.1 per cent year-on-year, continuing to set new record highs.
The U.S.-listed company delivered 2,476 ES6 and 1,264 ES8 vehicles in June.
Nio delivered 10,331 vehicles in the second quarter, up 190.8 per cent year-on-year, breaking 10,000 deliveries in a single quarter for the first time.
It also exceeded the upper limit of "10,000 units" for second-quarter delivery guidance given in the first-quarter earnings report.
Cumulative deliveries of the ES8 and ES6 reached 46,082 units as of June 30, 2020, of which 14,169 were delivered in 2020.
Nio is up 6.83% in pre-market trading in the U.S. If it continues this trend after the open, Nio market cap will be back to 10 billion dollars.
"In June, we set an all-time monthly delivery record, which contributed to our best quarterly performance," said Li Bin, Nio Chairman and CEO.
With improved deliveries, the turnaround in gross margin that Li Bin had hoped for in the 2019 results call may be the next key issue for the market.
