China Unicom Beijing Branch today announced the launch of a 5G SA (Standalone) network test for Beijing Unicom's 5G subscribers.
Before July 31, users can follow the "Beijing Unicom" WeChat public account and then enter "5GSA public test" in the dialog box to apply.
The public test period will last from July to September, and customers participating in the public test will also receive a Tencent Video membership as a free gift from Beijing Unicom.
The 5G SA architecture is the basis for deploying technologies such as super uplink, network slicing, and edge computing. The 5G SA architecture offers the advantages of high uplink bandwidth and low latency in both directions.
The 5G SA network is designed to deliver a superior user experience for public services and meet the differentiated network needs of enterprises and industries.
The beta test is expected to be welcome between "geek" users, as 5G SA networks have always been a mystery, but now users will finally have the opportunity to start experiencing.
5G SA networks meet the needs of SA-specific applications such as 5G HD backhaul, ultra-low latency, and network slicing to better support edge computing and other new features.
Not only does it offer better performance in VR, AR, and cloud gaming, but it can also more effectively support the digital government, industrial internet, smart healthcare, driverless, and other new services.
China Unicom has worked with China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company jointly conducts power slicing service validation based on 5G SA network.
Beijing Unicom is also working with Beijing Electric Power on the National Day 2019 5G video backhaul service, successfully applied in the core area of power equipment inspection.
