Xiaomi today announced the Xiaomi Band 5 which offers NFC and standard versions, priced at 229 yuan and 189 yuan respectively.
Compared to its predecessor, the Xiaomi Band 5 supports dynamic dials, adds five new motion modes, and for the first time ever it adopts magnetic charging, adds remote camera function.
The Xiaomi Band 5 comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED dynamic color display, making it the first Xiaomi band that supports the dynamic display function. Compared to its predecessor, it has a 20% increase in display area.
Its screen surface is protected by a 2.5D scratch-resistant glass panel with an increased screen backlight brightness of up to 450nit, with five levels of adjustable brightness.
This time the Xiaomi Band 5 comes with a choice of eight colors of wristbands which still use TPU material to ensure that wearing Comfort.
In addition to supporting dynamic dials, the Xiaomi Band 5 has surpassed 100 themed dials online. This includes 54 IP dials with such super IPs as SpongeBob SquarePants, New Century Evangelion, Hatsune Miku, Conan and more.
Its dials also support customization, allowing you to add functional modules as you see fit.
Sports and fitness remain the focus of the Xiaomi Band, and the Xiaomi Band 5 comes with a built-in Highly accurate six-axis motion sensor with 50m water resistance support, basically the same as the Xiaomi Band 4.
The Xiaomi Band 5 adds five new sport modes - rowing machine, yoga, jump rope, elliptical, and indoor cycling - plus Swimming, outdoor running, indoor running, walking, exercising and cycling are the six outdoor exercise modes, and now the Xiaomi Band 5 supports a total of 11 motion modes.
The Xiaomi Band 5 is equipped with a PPG biosensor, a further optimised heart rate monitoring algorithm and also supports 24 Hourly heart rate monitoring feature, but the data collection is more accurate than the previous generation.
According to Xiaomi, it improves the accuracy of sleep monitoring by 40% and heart rate monitoring irregular movements by up to 50%.
The Xiaomi Band 5 NFC version also has additional support for infrared monitoring to avoid interference from visible green light at night.
The Xiaomi Band 5 continues the 24-hour heart rate monitoring feature with a new sporadic nap mode and an afternoon nap as well. The ability to record data information during sleep.
The Xiaomi Band 5 also includes a pressure monitoring feature that lets you know your stress status. Lyrical pressure is applied in time for higher stress levels.
For the first time, the Xiaomi Band 5 also introduces the PAI algorithm, a personal activity indicator that combines heart rate values into a single, unbroken stream. The algorithm translates into more meaningful PAI values that allow users to have more intuitive control over their body condition.
For female users, the Xiaomi Band 5 also offers period prediction and bracelet vibration alerts.
The Xiaomi Band 5 still offers 14 days of battery life.
