Aiming to continue its growth in Europe, Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has detailed its plans to launch its latest smartphone range in more markets.
At the launch of the Oppo Find X2 range in the UK, Michael Tran, its global marketing and brand strategy director, told the media that the range will debut in Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Romania and will land in more EU countries later this year.OPPO currently has a presence in Italy, Spain, France and the UK.
Earlier this month, the company reached a major agreement with Vodafone Group to enable its smartphones to be sold in all European regions covered by the carrier.
"This year, we will really see our brand grow and solidify our position in the European market." Tran said.
Despite the new crown outbreak affecting the business, Tran said OPPO aims to "maintain the same level of global shipments" and claimed to have achieved "the highest growth" in Europe in the first quarter of this year.
Kevin Cho, managing director of OPPO Mobile UK, citing Canalys data, said the company has overtaken rival TCL to become Europe's fifth largest supplier.
The manufacturer launched the Find X2 flagship series and Find X2 Lite in the UK, and also released the Find X2 Neo, a mid-range phone that falls somewhere in between the two.
The Find X2 Neo is positioned as "the world's thinnest 5G device" with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 12GB RAM quad-cam array, 4025mAh battery, 90Hz 6.5-inch display and 30W fast charging.
