Yang Changfeng, chief designer of China's Beidou satellite navigation system project, said China has 70 percent of smartphones providing Beidou services, and more than half of the world's countries use Beidou systems.
Yang Changfeng also said that the last Beidou satellite had arrived at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center and was scheduled to be launched in June. At that time, the deployment of the Beidou system will be successfully completed.
The construction of the Beidou system has gone through three stages, Beidou 1, 2 and 3, and at present the four test satellites of Beidou 1 have all been retired.
From the first star of Beidou II, China has launched 54 Beidou navigation satellites, just one star away from the completion of the Beidou III system.
By improving the system's intelligent operation and maintenance capability, the Beidou 3 system operates continuously and steadily, while all performance indicators, such as service accuracy, availability and continuity, meet the expected requirements; both horizontal and elevation positioning accuracy are better than 5 meters in actual measurement.
