On May 19, UNISOC, China-based supplier of mobile communications chipsets and IoT chipsets, announced that its 5G baseband chip, Chunteng V510, has achieved support for the 700MHz frequency band in FDD (frequency division duplex) format, and recently achieved upstream and downstream data interchange.
The data interoperability test is based on the UNISOC Chunteng V510 5G CPE commercial product, which is based on the FDD mode and reaches the theoretical full rate in the 700MHz frequency band, using the DeTech E7515B UXM 5G wireless test platform.
The 700MHz band is considered the golden band in the development of mobile communications, which has the advantages of low signal propagation loss, wide coverage, strong penetration and low network cost, and is suitable for 5G underlying networks.
China Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is currently the only broadcaster in the world to obtain a 5G license and build a 700MHz network.
The UNISOC Chunteng V510 has successfully achieved data interoperability in the 700MHz band, which will strongly support the construction of 700MHz 5G networks in China and around the world, providing more 5G scenarios for consumer and industrial users, and further verifying the technical strength of UNISOC 5G chips.
At present, the ChuntengV510 can support both TDD and FDD modes, as well as all 5G frequency bands of China's four major operators and the global mainstream frequency bands, fully meeting the different needs of the global market for 5G high, medium and low frequency bands.
UNISOC said it will also continue to conduct interoperability tests with operators and base station partners around the world and continue to contribute to 700MHz commercial construction to further promote global 5G adoption.
ChuntengV510 is UNISOC's first 5G baseband chip based on Macaru's communication technology platform, supporting 2G/3G/4G/5G communication modes, Sub-6GHz, n1/n3/n8 /n20/ n41/n77/n78/n79 and other global mainstream frequency bands, and can realize SA/NSA dual-mode networking and TDD+FDD modes.
Based on the industrial-scale chip design, ChuntengV510 has wide temperature characteristics and can operate at -40℃ ~ +85℃, which can be widely used in many 5G vertical industries and terminal forms, including modules, CPE, MiFi, set-top boxes, AR, VR, IP cameras, industrial gateways, live broadcasters, automatic guided vehicles (AGV), drones, etc.
China Unicom's 5G CPE and 5G industrial module, the Yaufang N510 series, currently equipped with the UNISOC ChuntengV510, have been officially released, and dozens of ChuntengV510-equipped 5G terminals will be commercially available in 2020.
