Xiaomi appears to be gearing up to launch a new Android TV Stick - the Xiaomi TV Stick, which is now available on retailer Gearbest's website.
Externally, the Xiaomi TV Stick resembles a USB flash drive in a compact form factor, offering standard HDMI 2.0 and USB Type-C interfaces, the former for audio and video transfer and the latter for power.
Configuration-wise, the Xiaomi TV Stick seems to have the same performance as the Xiaomi Box S TV box, which means it comes with an Amlogic S905 (this time the Y2 version) quad-core processor, Mali-G31 GPU, 2GB RAM and 8GB storage.
In addition, it will support 4K HDR with dual decoding for Dolby and DTS HD.
However, the authenticity of the above configuration has yet to be confirmed, as the section of the list that refers to HDMI 2.0 also refers to the device as "Mi Box S", which means that the configuration may simply be a copy and paste of the previous device for placeholder purposes.
The Xiaomi TV Stick's price is shown at $79.99, which of course could be a placeholder, and it's expected that the product will be available exclusively for overseas markets.
