We know that jailbreaking has always been for iPhones and iPads, but now the Checkra1n team said they completed a jailbreak of Apple's new Mac Pro, calling it "the most expensive jailbroken device ever".
Notably, the Mac Pro comes with a T2 security chip, and the Checkra1n team exploited a vulnerability called checkm8.
They used the MacBook Pro to attack the Mac Pro's T2 security chip, gaining root access to the SSD master, signal processor, fingerprint, and system administration.
Although the Mac Pro has been jailbroken, it doesn't bring much benefit at the moment, depending largely on how subsequent developers take advantage of it.
This is the most expensive jailbreak device ever, with the Mac Pro selling for over $50,000, though it's unlikely that this jailbreak tool will be released to the public.
