Data released by research firm Canalys shows that three of the world's best-selling smartphone brands, Apple, Samsung, and Redmi, took all of the top 10 spots in the first quarter.
Among them, the iPhone 11 is the world's best-selling phone in Q1, with the Redmi Note8 in second place and the Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A10s in three or four places.
Apple holds three of the world's top 10 best-selling phones, Samsung holds four and Redmi holds three.
Redmi is the only Chinese mobile phone manufacturer to make the shortlist, with three models, namely Redmi Note 8/8T, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi 8A.
The Redmi 8A came in ninth, the Redmi Note 8 Pro came in fifth, and the Redmi Note 8/8T was the best performer, coming in second, just behind the Apple iPhone 11, and becoming the best-selling Android model in the world that quarter.
In fact, in the Q4 2019 data report released by Canalys, two models from the Redmi Note 8 series have already made it into the top 10 best-selling models worldwide for the quarter, with the Redmi Note 8/8T at number 6 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro at number 10.
