Although the new coronavirus outbreak did not affect the development of Apple's mini LED display products, terminal mass production assembly will have to wait until the end of this year, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report on Thursday.
Kuo said mini LEDs are a key technology for Apple's major rollout over the next five years, and that Wyatt will be the exclusive supplier of pre-spot measuring and sorting devices.
In March, Kuo previewed six of Apple's mini LED products, including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 10.2-inch iPad, 7.9-inch iPad mini, 27-inch iMac Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro and 14.1-inch MacBook Pro.
As for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Jon Prosser has revealed that it is expected to change to a 5nm A14X processor and so on, but it seems that this will not be possible until Q1 next year.
mini LED is a new backlit display technology that makes up the difference between LCDs and OLEDs in contrast, grayscale, and brightness with smaller, denser, and more refined LED backlight controls.
The mini LED will be the mainstay of future iPad and Mac product lines, but the iPhone will upgrade to a higher-end micro LED panel.
