Microsoft denies Windows market share decline

The latest market share figures released by survey agency Netmarketshare show that Windows 10's global share fell to 56% compared to March 2020 figures, while Linux and macOS system shares rose.

Now, Microsoft has responded, claiming that not only has the share of Windows usage increased, but usage has also increased dramatically, up 75 percent year-over-year.

This is equivalent to 4 trillion minutes of Windows usage per month, or 7,610,350 years.

Of course, with everyone staying at home, using a large screen will increase over a mobile screen.

Statcounter chart data shows a rise in Windows and macOS market share and a decline in Android and iOS share in recent weeks.

Microsoft also reported in its latest earnings report that PC demand drove Windows OEM Pro revenue up 5 percent due to remote working and learning needs.
