The distribution of various historical versions of Android shows that Android 10 has a market share of only 8.2%, according to 9to5Google.
Android 9 has the highest share, reaching 31.3%. Last May, Android 9's share reached 10.4%.
Android 9 is followed by Android 8 (including Android 8 and Android 8.1), the share is 21.3%, Android 7 and Android 6 share also exceeded 10%, respectively 12.9% and 11.2%.
The report pointed out that thanks to Project Treble, Android 9's share can quickly expand. Project Treble can be compared to CDD / CTS at the software and Android level.
Android is a free and open operating system. In order to allow applications developed by developers to run normally on mobile phones of different hardware manufacturers, Google introduced a compatibility definition document (CDD) and supporting compatibility test suite (CTS).
Only tested mobile phones are allowed to install Google Play services and enter the market.
With Project Treble, when the new system is released, the workload of the bottom part is saved. After the AOSP source code is released, OEM manufacturers only need to upgrade the Android system framework according to their own needs.
