It was reported yesterday that updating the KB4540673 security patch for Windows 10 users will cause a blue screen on the computer, and according to the latest feedback, it also includes audio issues and user profile errors.
Recently, the security patches of Microsoft Windows 10 seem to be unstable. After each push, users have feedback on Microsoft forums, Reddit and other problems.
Some users have complained in the Microsoft forums that after installing the KB4540673 update, the audio driver and sound card software conflict, and the computer cannot output sound, including headphones and speakers.
As well as feedback from users, after the update, the start menu, settings, taskbar, desktop, and other custom settings are cleared and restored to the default state. The status shows that Windows is logged in to a temporary account, and the user's personal data is moved to another location. Fortunately, it has not been deleted.
The KB4532693 patch pushed last month had similar issues.
There is currently no perfect solution. If you encounter problems, you can solve them by uninstalling the update:
1. Click the start button and type "Windows Update"
2. Select the "Windows Update Settings" page option, or go to "Set up application updates and security" and click the "Windows Update" option
3. On the Windows Update page, click View update history and select Uninstall updates
4.Find and select KB4540673 in the control panel
5. Click the "Uninstall" button
6.Restart the device when prompted
