With the new coronavirus outbreak, Apple updated its website's instructions, stating that disinfection wipes could be used to clean iPhones and other Apple products.
Previously, Apple advised against using cleaning products such as sanitary wipes, as they could damage the special coatings on electronic product screens that help prevent fingerprints.
This latest Apple product description update occurs when more and more people want their hands and phones to be free of bacterial infections, especially as the new crown virus spreads globally.
On its website, Apple specifically said:
Is it OK to use a disinfectant on my Apple product?
Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Don't use bleach. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don't submerge your Apple product in any cleaning agents. Don't use on fabric or leather surfaces.
