China-made Loongson CPU now supports 36 channels of 1080p video in one-CnTechPost

Chinese chip maker Loongson Technology today announced that the Loongson 3A3000/3B processor has been adapted to the network video conferencing system. It can be stably installed and operated on the Loongson platform and supports 36 channels of 1080p video in one transmission.

Loongson is one of the few companies in China that can independently design central processing units. It was established in 2010 with the goal of commercialising the research and development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences-developed chips.

Recently, many companies have changed to remote offices. The demand for online video conferencing is high, and it is an opportunity that major manufacturers cannot miss. Many previous trainings for Loongson were completed through remote meetings.

The network motion video conference system service supports online office, online conference and remote collaboration, including: point-to-point conference, multipoint conference, conference live broadcast, video recording, video monitoring and other functions.

Loongson's remote video conference system has the following advantages:

ยท The platform can integrate up to 36 channels of 1080P pictures into one channel according to the template, and supports high-definition/standard-definition dual-stream output, saving 90% of conference bandwidth and ensuring the smoothness of the video.

ยท The terminal can also adaptively adjust the encoding rate according to the size of the screen template in which it is located; and automatically receive HD or SD stream according to its own performance.

In addition to supporting hardware terminal access, mobile office workers can access through mobile terminals such as mobile phones and computers, without being restricted by optical fiber, ADSL, Wi-Fi, 3G/4G and other networks.

This time the Loongson 3A/3B3000 processor is adapted. According to the official website, Loongson 3A3000/3B3000 is an upgrade of the Loongson 3 series processors.

It is based on Loongson 3A2000 design. Loongson 3A3000 has made a few structural improvements, increasing the number of key queue entries of the processor core, expanding the on-chip private/shared cache capacity, etc., which is conducive to the same frequency performance.

Loongson 3A/3B3000 uses a 28nm process, which improves the chip frequency under the new process. The measured main frequency exceeds 1.5GHz, the memory access interface meets the DDR3-1600 specification, and the overall performance of the chip is greatly improved.

At the same time, the adjustment support of the chip substrate bias is added to better balance the contradiction between performance and power consumption and broaden the application of the chip.

On December 24 last year, Loongson released Loongson's new-generation general-purpose CPU products 3A4000/3B4000 in Beijing.

According to reports, Loongson 3A4000/3B4000 uses the same 28nm process as the previous generation products 3A3000/3B3000 and uses the latest generation of processor core GS464V developed by Loongson.

Its main frequency is 1.8GHz-2.0GHz, SPEC CPU2006 fixed-point and floating-point single-core scores are more than 20 points, which is more than twice the previous generation.

The 3A4000 general-purpose processing performance is comparable to AMD's 28nm process final product "Bulldozer" processor.
