Samsung customer representatives have previously stated twice that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 will receive Android 10 system updates this year. It sounds promising, but it doesn't happen at all. At the recent event for the release of the S20 series, Samsung officially clarified.
S8 and Note 8 smartphones were omitted from the Android 10 update roadmap released by Samsung a few months ago.
But it is strange that Samsung customer representatives provided false upgrade information again a few months later, and now the exact message is: Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 will not receive One UI 2.0 update based on Android 10.
In fact, this is not new news, but because the Samsung customer representative brought false information, I had to clarify again.
Under normal circumstances, Samsung provides two major system software updates for its smartphones, and Samsung S8/Note 8 have been upgraded from Android 7.0 Nougat to Android 8.0 Oreo, and then to Android 9 Pie.
The good news is that Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 will continue to receive security patches for at least some time.
Even so, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has actually been launched for three years, so it may soon stop receiving patch updates altogether.
