Apple releases watchOS 6.2 Developer Preview Beta 2

Apple today released developer preview Beta 2 of iOS / iPadOS 13.4, macOS Catalina 10.15.4, and tvOS 13.4, and also launched watchOS 6.2 developer preview Beta 2 for Apple Watch users.

This is two weeks away from the Beta 1 update. The last version of the update brought in-app purchases. The update fixes some bugs and adds some new features.

Developers can download Xcode 11.4 beta, use the StoreKit API, and build apps for watchOS 6.2 Beta 1.

watchOS 6 marks the launch of a dedicated App Store for the Apple Watch app. Users will be able to search and download apps directly from the watch, reducing the device ’s dependence on the iPhone.

New function

When using Apple Watch Series 3 and later, ASWeb authentication sessions are now available. With this feature, apps can now authenticate users with web-based logins such as OAuth.

StoreKit

New function

The StoreKit framework is now available for watchOS apps.

Resolved issues

Fixed an issue where building apps for the Apple Watch emulator could cause compiler errors.
