Huawei will enter the monitor field and will launch commercial, home, gaming, curved and other types of displays, which are expected to be available in the second half of the year, according to a report from chinastarmarket.cn.
The report cited industry sources as saying that Huawei has set up six teams to research the monitor market and has contacted more than 90% of foundries nationwide.
According to 21st Century Business Herald, multiple sources said that Huawei monitors will hit the market soon, of which a 23.8-inch product will be released first.
A panel industry veteran told the paper that Huawei has a display team and at present only 23.8 inches are certain. “It is under development and is scheduled to hit the market in Q2.”
It is not the first time for a major mobile phone manufacturer to enter the monitor field.
In August last year, there were rumors that Xiaomi would launch a monitor. Later, Xiaomi launched two monitors on October 17th: a 23.8-inch FHD home monitor and a 34-inch 3440x1440 resolution and 144Hz gaming monitor.

Judging from the new monitor products this year, the USB-C interface will usher in popularity. If Huawei enters the display field, it can deeply adapt its MateBook notebook products and mobile phone products to achieve more "screen" collaboration functions.
