The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will both have 108MP cameras that were used on the Mi CC9 Pro, according to a report form XDA Developers on Monday.
The report said they have obtained build.prop files for two Xiaomi devices, codenamed “Umi” and “Cmi”, which confirm that “Umi” is the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 10 while “Cmi” is the Mi 10 Pro.
It said before the Mi CC9 Pro was launched, there were information suggesting that Xiaomi was working on four devices, codenamed Tucana, Draco, Umi, and Cmi, with the 108MP sensor.
These devices were spotted in an update for MIUI’s stock gallery app which introduced support for 108MP photos. Out of the four devices, Tucana is the Mi Note 10 Pro and Draco is the Mi Mix Alpha. This left two devices, Umi and Cmi, which can now confirm as the upcoming Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.
In January, Weibo user @数码闲聊站 said the Xiaomi Mi 10 series will use 108MP rear quad camera arranged vertically in the upper left corner.
He added that the Mi 10 series currently only has four lenses on the rear, but there are other small sensors or component openings, which are currently unknown.
Earlier today, test links on JD.com revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphone may be released in an online event at 14:00 on February 13, according to the same Weibo user.
The screenshot also shows that Xiaomi 10 will be available for sale for the first time on February 14 at 9:00 am. This also means that Xiaomi Mi 10 may skip the pre-order stage after launch and go straight to sale.
At present, the test links could not be found at Xiaomi flagship store at JD.com.
