Realme founder Li Bingzhong said recently that this year they will no longer launch 4G smartphones in the Chinese market and all their products will have 5G.
5G is a key consideration for most consumers, and has become one of Realme's priority this year.
Last week, Realme released its first 5G phone, the Realme X50, starting at 2499 yuan.
This 5G mobile phone equipped with Snapdragon 765G chip supports NSA/SA dual-mode, 64 million six-camera front and rear, and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.
Although 2499 yuan is not the lowest market price of 5G mobile phones at present, the price of 5G mobile phones with dual-mode configuration is reduced to 2500 yuan, which comes earlier than the industry's prediction.
In an interview with Chinese media, Realme Vice President and Global Marketing President Xu Qi said that Realme will also launch 5G mobile phones within 2,000 yuan or 1,500 yuan this year.
Xu Qi added, "Considering that users in the 5G era have higher demand for memory, the minimum memory version of the X50 is 128GB, which is why the minimum price of this phone has not dropped to less than two thousand."
Realme will also “strive to become a full-price mobile phone brand” this year, which means that Realme may launch more 5G products that are positioned at the mid-to-high end, but to what extent the price is specific, Realme said it is still planning.
In November, Lenovo said it is all in 5G in China from now on and future smartphones it plans to roll out will all support the next generation ultra-fast network.
However, this does not necessarily mean Lenovo will immediately stop selling 4G smartphones. The company will not have inventories of 4G phones by the first half of next year, said Chen Jin, general manager of Lenovo China Consumption Department.
