All three major operators in China -- China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom, have supported eSIM on Xiaomi's Mi Watch, Liu Qi, director of market communication of Xiaomi EcoChain, said on Weibo Friday.
Liu said that cities supporting eSIM mainly rely on operators to promote the pilot and the progress of national license issuance. Currently there are not many pilot cities, which is a problem that smart watch brands will encounter, but it is expected that there will be good news in December.
China Unicom's independent numbers can be opened nationwide; the dual-number terminal supports primary phone numbers belonging to Unicom mobile phone users in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Changsha, and Wuhan.
China Telecom's independent numbers can be opened nationwide, but the opened numbers only belong to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, and Wuhan; the dual-terminal No. 1 supports Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Nanjing, Chengdu, Wuhan Telecom mobile phone users.
China Mobile No. 1 dual terminal supports mobile phone users whose main numbers belong to Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Chengdu.
China Unicom, China Mobile, and China Telecom's dual-terminal services are offering free trials before December 31, 2019.
