The Honor V30 and V30 Pro will be unveiled on November 26. Just three days before the event, Horner confirmed the devices will have Kirin 990 SoC and support 5G.
In a post on Weibo, Honor, a brand under Huawei, said the V30 series will have the Kirin 990 chipset under the hood with 5G support.
This is in line with a report earlier this month by cnTechPost.
According to a smartphones list, several other 5G phones from Huawei are expected to be released including the Honor V30 5G, Honor V30 Pro 5G, nova 6 Pro 5G and Honor Magic 3 5G.
The report said it seems the Honor V30 series may not be offered in cheaper 4G versions with all of them supporting 5G.
The latest information from Honor shows the Honor V30 will have the same chipset as the Mate 30 5G which have the Kirin 990 5G chipset clocked at 2.86 GHz. The SoC is slightly different from the basic Kirin 990, running in the non-5G variants of the phones.
It has slightly faster CPU clusters and two big NPU cores to match the faster performance of the chipset, given the higher bandwidth speeds.
Beside using the same chipset, the price of the entry models seems to be the same. According Weibo user “长安数码君”, the Honor V30’s price will also start at 4,999 yuan ($710).
