Nio shares surged about 21% in pre-market trading after previous reports said its China headquarters will be located in Hefei and planned to raise 10 billion yuan.

Geely still have an intention to invest in Nio, especially after the failed acquisition of Aston Martin, Geely needs new projects to improve its strategic layout, 21st Century Business Herald quoted people familiar with the matter as saying.

Nio signed a cooperation framework agreement with Hefei City, and leaders of Anhui Province and Hefei City attended the signing site. According to the agreement, the Nio China headquarters project will be settled in Hefei, Sina Tech reported on Tuesday.
