Changan will join hands with Huawei and CATL to build a new high-end smart car brand with high-end smart products coming soon, Changan Chairman Zhu Ronghua announced.

Huawei is interested in taking a stake in Chinese new energy vehicle company Changan NIO , WeChat account HD-Auto said on Friday, citing sources with knowledge of the matter, adding that if this becomes a reality, Huawei may not necessarily fund it directly, but may invest through its funds.

NIO has exited from the joint venture it created two years ago with Changan Automobile, the latter's semi-annual report for 2020 released August 31 showed.
