Huawei has launched the industry's first wide foldable smartphone, the Pura X Max, with the standard edition of this new flagship device priced from 10,999 yuan ($1,610).
Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei consumer business group, unveiled the product at a launch event on Monday, marking Huawei's further expansion into the premium foldable screen market.
The Pura X Max features significant technological innovation in its screen form factor, with both the inner and outer displays adopting a new paper-like aspect ratio of about √2:1.

The device features a 5.4-inch outer screen and expands to a 7.7-inch inner screen, with both displays supporting an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The new handset utilizes the latest Xuanwu waterdrop hinge technology, significantly improving its overall drop resistance and the inner screen's impact resistance.
In addition, the entire series is powered by the latest Kirin 9030 Pro chip and the HarmonyOS 6.1 operating system, Yu said at the launch event.
Huawei introduced the industry's first companion AI solution on this phone, which has already partnered with several mainstream applications, including Amap and Didi Chuxing.

The imaging system is also a core competitive advantage of the phone. Its rear module is equipped with a 50-megapixel ultra-lighting variable aperture main camera and a periscope telephoto lens of the same resolution.
Furthermore, Huawei has specifically launched the new M-Pen 3 Mini stylus accessory for this wide-fold phone, which supports air gestures. It is also the first smartphone to feature the GoPaint app.
Regarding the specific pricing strategy, the base version with 12 GB of RAM is priced at 10,999 yuan, while the top-tier Collector's Edition with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage is priced at 13,999 yuan.
