Alibaba is actively recruiting fresh young talent for artificial intelligence (AI) roles on a massive scale, according to a recruitment notice released by the company on Wednesday.
The Chinese e-commerce pioneer has officially launched its global intern recruitment program for the Class of 2027, adding seven new categories of AI-related positions compared to previous years.
A total of 16 business units are participating in this joint recruitment, including Alibaba Cloud, Taobao and Tmall Group, and Tongyi Lab, according to the company's statement.
Of all the available campus recruitment openings, over 80% are directly related to AI.
The company has also launched a top-tier talent recruitment and development program named "Alibaba Star," specifically targeting young scientific research talents worldwide.
This elite program will focus on five core cutting-edge technology areas: foundation models, AI infrastructure, large model applications, industrial AI, and computing architecture.
Alibaba promises to provide selected candidates with an international platform, diverse business scenarios across the entire group, and top-tier resources for growth.
Alibaba's massive recruitment drive comes as China's major tech giants ignite a fierce battle for AI talent, pushing competition to unprecedented levels.
Its domestic rival Baidu announced on March 10 that it is offering over 5,000 internship positions, with more than 90% of these roles closely tied to the AI sector.
Similarly, Ant Group launched its spring campus recruitment on March 10, where over 70% of the technical positions offered are directly focused on AI fields such as large language models.
Other industry leaders, such as ByteDance and Tencent, have also rolled out thousands to tens of thousands of internship positions globally, further intensifying the market's thirst for top-tier technical talent.
