ByteDance's Volcano Engine launched ArkClaw on Monday, an out-of-the-box, cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service) version of the OpenClaw platform.

The release marks ByteDance's official entry into the heating OpenClaw craze, aiming to provide users with a more convenient artificial intelligence experience.

OpenClaw has recently gained popularity among developers for its powerful system-level execution capabilities, but complex environment configurations and soaring token consumption have significantly compromised the user experience for many.

ArkClaw aims to address these challenges by eliminating the cumbersome cloud deployment process. Users can now access this 24/7 online assistant simply by opening a webpage.

The zero-threshold approach enables non-technical users to easily manage their AI agents, while developers no longer need to worry about conversation memories being cleared, according to a statement from Volcano Engine.

Alibaba fully opened its AI agent QoderWork last Tuesday, and Tencent launched its OpenClaw-compatible application WorkBuddy earlier today.

The debut of ArkClaw reflects the fierce competition among Chinese tech giants in the desktop AI sector.

To attract initial users, Volcano Engine is offering early access to its Coding Plan subscribers, with Coding Plan Pro users receiving free access to ArkClaw throughout their entire subscription period.

In terms of model selection, ArkClaw offers users a high degree of flexibility, supporting mainstream models including Doubao, Kimi, MiniMax, and GLM.

Beyond web-based interactions, ArkClaw already supports multiple mainstream instant messaging apps and is adapted to the official OpenClaw plugin for Feishu.

This allows users to easily handle scheduling and complex documents without repeatedly configuring permissions, boosting the automation efficiency of daily office tasks.

The platform also features built-in security scanning to prevent data leakage risks, and Volcano Engine will hold related offline promotional events in seven major Chinese cities this Thursday.

Tencent has launched AI agent WorkBuddy, a desktop application designed to boost office productivity.
