Huawei will invest $100 million over the next three years in the Asia-Pacific Spark Program to build a startup ecosystem, the company announced on Tuesday.
Huawei plans to recruit 1,000 start-ups and build 100 scale-ups, the company said.
Huawei announced the launch of three Asia-Pacific Spark startup enablement programs: the Spark Developer Program, which aims to build the Huawei Cloud Asia-Pacific developer ecosystem; the Spark Pitstop Program, which helps startups adopt Huawei Cloud for rapid product development; and the Spark Innovation Program (SIP), which helps companies innovate through the Spark startup ecosystem.
Zhang Pingan, president of Huawei Cloud BU, said Huawei also launched the Cloud Collaborative Innovation Program for the world, with Huawei Cloud and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) each providing $20 million in resource support for startups.
The program will support 200 startups in the HMS ecosystem in 2021, share channel resources to developers worldwide, and cover 1 billion Huawei users.
Huawei will also build an HMS Developer Innovation Center to train 100,000 HMS native developers.
