Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com unveiled Yunjian, an operating system for cloud servers, at the JD.com Cloud Summit 2021 on July 13, which the company says is the first of its kind in the industry.
JD.com said the system enables hybrid cloud management at the operating system level for the first time, enabling the most comprehensive, unified management and scheduling of digital infrastructure.
The OS is suitable for large-scale, enterprise-class applications, promises long-term and stable version support, and is compliant with common industry standards and compatible with CNCF conformance certification, according to JD.com.
JD.com fully opens up its PaaS services, becoming the industry's first cloud vendor to fully open up from IaaS to PaaS, it says.
JD.com maintains open business values, and customers can switch infrastructure at any time according to their business needs.
Relying on the Cloud OS open application marketplace, JD.com Cloud also released a partner program for the PaaS ecosystem, with 30 companies participating in the first phase.
In addition, JD.com released seven supporting infrastructure technology products, including a new generation of the green data center, Jingang's fourth-generation cloud host, a new generation of elastic proprietary cloud JDStack 4.0, JD.com Cloud Intelligent Vision, JD.com Wanxiang + Privacy Computing Platform, distributed database StarDB, and self-research DevOps tool platform.
