NetEase recently launched an app called KUMOO in Japan with an interface similar to Clubhouse, according to tech media Tech Planet.
The company said KUMOO is a free voice chat software that enables users to find gaming partners and enjoy team games more effectively.
KUMOO can be associated with data from NetEase's mobile games including Knives Out and Identity V, displaying detailed user game data without the need to add friends in the game.
Users can use KUMOO to find game teammates and automatically form a team to start a game with a click.
NetEase registered the trademark "NetEase KUMOO" in December 2020, which falls under the classification of socio-legal, communication services, according to data provider Qichacha.
As previously reported by CnTechPost, more than 30 Chinese vendors have developed Clubhouse-like products, including TikTok's local competitors Kuaishou's Spaceship and Xiaomi's MiTalk.
