By the end of 2020, the number of game apps reached 887,000 among all app categories in the Chinese market, accounting for 25.7% of all apps, latest data showed.
The data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China showed that in 2020, Chinese Internet companies reached a revenue of RMB 128.38 billion ($198.5 billion), an increase of 12.5% year-on-year.
The number of apps in China continues to decrease slightly in 2020. By the end of 2020, the number of apps detected in China's domestic market was 3.45 million, 10,000 fewer than in November or down 0.3%.
The number of apps on local third-party app stores was 2.05 million, and the number of apps on Apple's App Store (China) was 1.4 million.
The total number of app distributions from third-party app stores in China reached 160.4 billion in 2020. Among them, the number of game downloads reached 258.4 billion, ranking first.
