China Mobile to build 700MHz 5G network with China Broadcast Network-CnTechPost

Chinese telecom operators China Mobile and China Broadcast Network have entered into a 5G sharing agreement on jointly building a 700MHz wireless network, while China Mobile will also share its 2.6GHz network with China Broadcast Network for a fee.

Under the agreement, the 700MHz and 2.6GHz wireless networks use the same shared technology solution, with China Mobile providing 700MHz frequency 5G base stations to China Broadcast Network for use in its transmission network at local or provincial hubs for a fee. China Broadcast Network pays China Mobile for the service.

China Broadcast Network pays China Mobile for the use of the network, including 700MHz wireless network operation and maintenance fee, 700MHz transmission network use fee, 2G/4G/5G network use fee.

During the first phase of cooperation, China Broadcast Network pays China Mobile 700MHz network operation and maintenance fees and 700MHz transmission bearer network usage fees starting from the second month after the 700MHz frequency 5G base stations are connected to China Broadcast Network's core network or transmission nodes designated by China Broadcast Network, and the fees are calculated based on the number of base stations.

China Broadcast Network will settle the 2G / 4G / 5G network usage fees to China Mobile based on the amount of network services used by its customers on China Mobile's 2G / 4G / 5G network.

During the first five years of the second phase of the cooperation, China Broadcast Network will pay China Mobile network usage fees, including 700MHz wireless network operation and maintenance fees, 700MHz transmission bearer network usage fees, and 2.6GHz network usage fees, at rates agreed by both parties.

Based on the operation and cooperation in the first five years of the second phase of the cooperation, the companies will determine the settlement amount for the next five years of the second phase of the cooperation in 2026 through friendly negotiations. Both parties shall determine by mutual agreement the settlement of cooperation fees for customer service, international business beyond the agreement.
