The Shanghai government held an executive meeting today to decide that it will accelerate the development of the local new energy vehicle industry, according to the Shanghai Observer.
The meeting agreed to the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Development of New Energy Vehicle Industry in Shanghai (2021-2025)" and "Policies on Supporting the Development of Fuel Cell Vehicle Industry in the City".
The meeting mentioned that new energy vehicles are in a period of great development, and Shanghai must actively seize the industrial high ground with a sense of urgency.
Shanghai will encourage the competitive development of different technical routes, accelerate the application of new energy vehicles in the public sector and the layout of facilities for charging piles, the report said, adding that it is important to do a good job of trend research and judgment, and timely adjustment of policy guidance and relevant standards.
