Huawei's new sports health science lab was put into use today. The lab is divided into a wearable product reliability test lab and a sports health professional evaluation lab.
The R&D team of Huawei's smart wear and sports health business spent nine months integrating the original R&D resources and introducing a new set of professional research equipment to build the new Huawei Sports Health Science Lab.
In this lab, there are more than 40 researchers with professional backgrounds spanning computer software, engineering, physics, mathematics, sports, medicine and other disciplines.
In the reliability testing experimental area, engineers have built more than ten reliability testing sessions with reference to all Huawei smart wear products, where they will be tested destructively.
Apple continues to lead wearables market in Q2, Huawei second
In the sports health professional measurement experimental area, with the help of more than twenty kinds of professional research equipment, researchers simulate a variety of sports scenarios, collect human sports health data, and continuously optimize Huawei sports health data algorithms.
For example, in 2020, the researchers collected running data for an accumulated time of 10,900 hours and about 105,000 kilometers of running.
These data are continuously tested and optimized by the data algorithm to restore the physical state of a person when running, which is eventually applied to Huawei's smart wearable products.
This year Huawei launched seven wrist smart wear products to the market. According to a market research report by IDC, a leading global market consultancy, Huawei's market share of wristwear devices ranked first in the world in the second quarter of 2020.
